Genetical disorders : How risky is the anaesthesia in paediatric patients ?

Genetic disorders could be common and uncommon. They may present to us with or without multiple congenital defects, and pose unique challenges for anesthesia and surgery. More than10,000 genetic conditions have been reported in the literature.

They have special healthrelated needs requiring attention before successful anesthesia. Recognizing the risk factors and potential complications before sedation or anesthesia is the key for a successful outcome.
